MXM MAXXUM

Case IH introduces a newly engineered line of Maxxum® tractors—the MXM Series—with six models from 95 to 160 PTO horsepower (71 to 119 kW). The new MXM Series tractors deliver more horsepower, more standard features and lots of enhancements to make you more comfortable and productive in the field and feedlot.

There are four standard wheelbase and two long wheelbase models, and each is available in two-wheel drive and mechanical front-wheel drive (MFD).

An ideal row-crop tractor

Whether you’re planting, cultivating or spraying, an MXM Series tractor can help you cover more acres in a day. Headland turns are less hassle thanks to the MXM Headland Management System that memorizes the changes you make to engine speed, transmission gear and three-point hitch, and then repeats them at the end of each row with the push of a single button. MFD models feature a 55-degree turn angle to save you time at the headland and programmable transmission features save you time in the field too.

A hard-working tractor for livestock/feedlot applications

From repetitive loader chores to mowing or baling, an MXM Series tractor gets the job done in less time with less stress on you. When equipped with up to four mid-mount remotes and the standard power shuttle, you can accomplish any loader task more quickly and easily than before. These tractors are perfect for loading feed or manure in feedlot and dairy operations.

Thanks to outstanding hydraulic capacity and engine performance, MXM Series tractors are ideal for taking from feedlot to field. With increased fuel capacity of up to 105 U.S. gallons (397 L), you can mow, bale, spray or seed all day long without stopping to refuel.

Turbocharged, Intercooled Engines

An efficient 7.5 L, 6-cylinder Case IH engine forms the heart of the MXM Series tractor power plant.

Engine is turbocharged and air-to-air intercooled for a prime combination of both high-end horsepower and best-in-class fuel economy.

Constant power and deep torque reserves keep you on the move under full load, even through tough hardpan, wet spots and on slopes or grades.

Up to 40% torque rise at 1400 rpm on the two larger models generates an extra 35 horsepower in PTO applications.

Electronic engine management system on the MXM175 and MXM190 ensures that PTO maintains its rated speed when additional power is needed. Power management system also kicks in above 16th gear during transport to improve engine efficiency and fuel economy.

More MXM Series engine features:

Engine speed “cruise control” allows you to operate at a constant engine speed no matter what the terrain or crop conditions.
Vistronic cooling fan operates only as needed to save precious horsepower.
Rotary-designed injection pumps deliver fuel in precisely the right amount to match engine airflow—and that means throttle response is fast, and fuel burns cleanly at any speed.
High compression ratio results in maximum fuel economy, quick startups and quiet operation.
Cross-flow cylinder heads increase airflow through the engine for greater efficiency.
Specially designed compressor blades optimize efficiency and performance.
New hydraulic valves provide quiet operation.

Smooth Transmissions

Choose between two transmissions—the top-of-the line full powershift or the smooth semi powershift. Both offer clutch-free shuttling with electrohydraulic control for faster cycle times when doing repetitive tasks with a loader. An optional creeper is available to let you work at just 0.19 mph (0.32 kph) with the full powershift or 0.25 mph (0.42 kph) with the semi version.

18x6 Full Powershift Transmission (standard on the MXM175 and MXM190 and optional on all other models)

A patented torque-sensing system automatically ensures smooth gear changes based on engine load, engine speed and ground speed.

Additional perks make this a highly productive transmission:

Standard digital gear readout.
Reverse gear programming.
Speed matching.
Auto Field mode that shifts up or down automatically based on engine speed and driveline torque.
Auto Transport mode that shifts automatically through the top seven gears based on engine torque and throttle position.

18x6 Semi Powershift Transmission (Standard on the MXM120, MXM130, MXM140 and MXM155)

The 18x6 semi powershift transmission gives you six consecutive powershift gears in three clutchless range changes, and you get nine speeds in the critical 2 to 7 mph (3.2 to 11.3 kph) working range. Great gear overlap and well-spaced speed changes let you match ground speed to your crop, field conditions or application without over-shifting between ranges.

Simply press the fast or slow shift buttons on the main control lever to select the speed you want. A display shows you which range you’re in, and six separate lights indicate each powershift speed within the range. An audible beep and flashing LED remind you when a change is required.

Additional features:

Speed matching automatically downshifts as ground speed slows.
Programmable reverse allows you to select up to a 3-gear ratio below the selected forward speed.
Gear preselect allows you to select a gear while the shift lever is in neutral, then move the lever forward or reverse to start in that gear.
Automatic upshift works during transport to automatically match the gear speed to engine and road speeds each time you engage the clutch.

Headland Management System

The Case IH Headland Management System simplifies headland turns by allowing you to handle numerous adjustments with the push of one button. The system memorizes your actions during your first headland turn, including the adjustments you make to the throttle, transmission and three-point hitch. Then, every time you come to the end of a row, simply press the “play” button to repeat those same actions. It’s a feature that saves you time and effort.

Axle Choices

Choose the MXM front axle that matches your needs—the all-new suspended mechanical front-wheel drive (MFD), MFD or 2WD.

The suspended MFD axle design gives you a full 4.2 inches (105 mm) of travel to keep the front tires in contact with the ground to “step over” furrows and ruts in the field. You get enhanced stability, greater traction and improved steering control on any uneven surface. It also reduces the shock loads and vibration you feel in the cab, gives you more control when roading and takes the “bounce” out of loader work. A convenient, in-cab override switch lets you lock out the front suspension for “fine” loader work.

An impressive 55-degree turn angle, that allows for tight headland turns, is featured on MFD models, including those equipped with the suspended MFD axle.

A heavy 4.13-inch-diameter rear bar axle with larger brakes holds up to the demands of heavy-duty applications.

Comfortable Cab/Convenient Controls

With MXM Series tractors, a higher class of comfort is standard. From the deluxe air ride seat to the innovative cab suspension option, you’ll enjoy an easier, smoother ride over all types of terrain.

61.4 sq. ft of glass and a sloped hood, ensure superior sight lines to row crops and make loader work easier.

All the controls you need are right at your fingertips. Your right arm rests comfortably within easy reach of the throttle, powershift lever, remote valve levers and three-point hitch controls.

Programmable shuttle lever can be operated easily while your hands are on the steering wheel.

Optional digital performance monitor (standard on MX175 and MXM190) is also located on the steering column and keeps you informed of gear selection and other functions.

A total of 12 lights allow you to see all around the tractor at all hours.

The MXM Series cab includes a long list of standard features:

Two lockable doors allow you to enter from either side.
Sound levels as low as 72 dBA for a quiet ride.
Interior climate control with 3-speed blower air conditioning.
Foot throttle.
Prewired circuits and mounting point.
A cell phone hook.
Plenty of storage locations.
Two cupholders.

Optional equipment includes:

Deluxe air-ride seats – three choices.
Digital display performance monitor (standard on MXM175 and MXM190).
Adjustable cab suspension system travels up to 4 inches to reduce shock loads by 20%.

Optional dealer-installed accessories include:

Large telescopic rearview mirrors.
Radar with slip control.
Rear fender extensions.
Extremity light kit.
Rotary roof beacon.
Backup alarm.

Hitch, Hydraulics and PTO

MXM Series tractors offer more lift capacity, greater hydraulic flow and a soft-start PTO to give you more power and performance where it counts.

30% more lift capacity—up to 17,085 pounds (7,748 kg) on the two largest models—means you lift large loads with ease.

Ride control is standard to prevent 3-point mounted implements from bouncing on the rear linkage during transport. This gives you greater steering control, added safety and a smooth, comfortable ride at speeds over 5 mph (8 kph).

The high-capacity, closed-center pressure-flow compensating hydraulic system delivers up to 28 gpm (106 lpm) on the four smaller models, and 31.7 gpm (120 lpm) on the two larger models.

A separate steering pump with up to 16.4 gpm (62 lpm) on the two larger models assures that implements have their own ample supply. Two remotes are standard on the smaller models and four are standard on the MXM175 and MXM190.

A “power beyond slice” feature permits the attachment of a separate feed, return and sensing line so you can operate implements with high hydraulic demand with their own valve controls. And, this simplifies hookup.

Standard 540/1000 rpm soft-start PTO provides smooth engagement even with high-torque equipment and high-inertia loads. At engine speeds above 1800 rpm, the soft-start PTO reverts to conventional PTO engagement.

Electronic draft control lets you dial in the blend of position and draft you need, then automatically maintains it.

Easy Maintenance

The ease of maintaining an MXM Series tractor is something you will appreciate. Simplified servicing helps reduce downtime and lowers your cost of ownership.

A single-piece sloped hood, powered by gas struts, flips up to give you full access to the engine, air cleaner, slide-out radiator and hydraulic oil cooler.

All fluid levels checkpoints and the refueling point are accessible from ground level.

Additional servicing that can be completed from the ground includes changing the air filter, cleaning out the radiator, checking oil levels and more.
